Pizza on the green egg

2 tbsp olive oil

15 ounce can whole tomatoes

8 ounce can tomato paste

1/2 a purple onion chopped

4 cloves garlic minced

1 tsp sugar

5-10 leave of fresh basil chopped

pepper

salt

sauté onions over medium heat

add garlic

crush whole tomatoes with your hand and add along with the juice from the can

add tomato paste

add sugar

add basil

add pepper and salt to taste

simmer for about 30 minutes

BBQ instructions:

Heat BBQ to 550 degrees

add woodchips of choice... (I used applewood)

wait one or  two minutes

put pizza on the stone for about 2-3 minutes

pro-tip: wipe the stone with a damp cloth before adding each pie. This will cool the stone just enough to prevent burning on the bottom of the crust.
